How statuses are determined

Every status combines three signals:

1. Automated checks — we regularly ping each service's public website or API and measure whether it responds and how fast.
2. Crowd reports — people like you tap "Working" or "Not working". A sudden spike in problem reports is a strong signal.
3. Official accounts — we surface the latest announcements from each organisation's official channels.

Because no signal is perfect, every status shows a confidence label (High, Medium or Low) and when it was last checked.
